PLLA, Poly L-Lactide Acid is 4th generation polymer which has been used for collagen filler such as Sculptra. PLLA thread is has longer duration than PDO thread as its biodegradation in the skin tissue takes longer (18 to 24 months). Also, it is known for its volume effect as thread's volume increases after insertion about 30% within 4 weeks. Safety of PLLA is approved by FDA and KFDA, completely decomposed into CO2, H2O and glucose.
